I do not perceive silence as an absence of sound; instead rather as a state of mind. Therefore, I am developing several installations in order to create a space that allow us to find our own empty space within us. I feel urge of the world for a peaceful moment in these rush a bit chaotic days. As we should start from the individual, the “silence” acts here as a tool for self-reflection. A dark space with the warm light and blanket above a wooden palette create inviting atmosphere for the contemplation. The smell and smooth structure of the wood are very good companions for a “silent” journey. There is a subtle music to be heard, which is in essence a background. By creating a flow of sound that is free of unexpected events and does not create other expectations, I aim for the state of mind that can be easily free of a tension-release situation. And do we need to be completely silent to feel the power of silence? One hundred and fifty square centimeters create an opportunity and freedom to find your own empty space within you.
“There is no such thing as an empty space or an empty time. There is always something to see, something to hear. In fact, try as we may to make a silence, we cannot.”
― John Cage,
